The main purpose of this hearing was to allow all of those who wish to speak at the Oral Hearing register their interest and provide and provide an estimate of the time they require for their presentations. It is expected that an agenda outlining the modules to be coveredas along with a detailed schedule of speakers will be issued by the board shortly and in advance of the start of the Oral Hearing on 15th February. Intending speakers did not have to present themselves in person on the day; registration by letter or email was also possible. A group from Slane, including representatives of the Bypass Slane Campaign were present and lodged their intention to present oral submissions with the Bord Pleanála inspectors. A strong submission from the Slane community is planned. Representatives of many major community groups and institutions, as well as a number of private individuals, have confirmed their willingness to present at the Oral Hearing in favour of the proposed bypass. The people of Slane are determined that their voices will be heard in the deliberations over the weeks ahead. |
